Cressida Model was my model for ten years. She had the attributes required of an artist's model, commitment and patience. A good model develops a special kind of bond with an artist hence the reason why in the past many great painters used their favourite models repeatedly. She was not beautiful yet she had an unusual face. She could always give me something, a look for which I was searching. I was creating a collection of portraits of 20th century women. She is in all the photographs that intend to show the many emotional aspects of women. I admit that on one or two occasions I was a little envious of her. Once a middle-aged man stood beside me at an exhibition of my work, nudged me in the ribs and looking at one of the portraits said,Model Girl certainly was brave to willingly be so utterly exposed, but with Toscani's vision in control of the camera, a quality respectable and impacting statement was certain to be created. As long as people keep talking about the disease, and countries such as Italy show they care about young women, hopefully the disease will decrease in numbers among women. The billboard was released to the public a week prior to the Fashion Show Week in Milan. It had the streets buzzing with curiosity, and in some cases praise for such an impacting statement in a single photograph."Who's the gorgeous model?"
